How long does a lesson last?

Each lesson lasts 60 minutes daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

Is it hard to learn to dance?

Dance is for everybody, regardless of gender, age or physique. It only takes willpower and patience and not special skills, talent or previous knowledge. The teaching of Latin, European, Greek and Cypriot dances starts from scratch and progresses gradually and always according to your personal needs.

How long will it take before I learn to dance?

You will be able to dance the basic steps after your first 2-3 lessons. You will be able to recognize each rhythm after 4-5 lessons. From then on it depends on what you want from your dancing and how much time you can spare for your goal. An average of 2 units per week for about a year is enough to dance everything very well. This depends on the dances you want to learn and the stage you want to reach. To learn the basic steps in the eight Latin and European dances you need about 8 to 14 lessons depending on your perception.

How much does it cost?

There are initial “get-to-know-us” packages with significant discounts whether you choose to pay in cash or in instalments. In some cases, there are special offers. Your first lesson is always FREE. The continuity of your courses and their cost depends on many factors. What dances you want to learn, what level you want to reach, the frequency and duration of your education. However, within a very short period of time, your teacher will be able to inform you and present you a program based on your own needs and personal preferences so that you can make the most appropriate and correct choice.

I have a very busy schedule, will I ever have time to do my classes?

Our schools are open daily from 10:00 to 22:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00. Thus, there is a free-hour timetable, which means that depending on your personal schedule and how much time you want to spend on your dancing you can arrange your lessons at the frequency and duration that suits you best. Our student ages range from 6 to 86 years old. As you can understand all our students have obligations and flexible schedules, so you can book a course any day and any time you want. If anything urgent happens, all you have to do is to call us to change your appointment.

How capable will my teacher be?

All the teachers of our schools have gone through an integrated education system in all kinds of dances. They have done hundreds of hours of training, have passed exams and at regular intervals continue their training with seminars on new developments in dance issues. They have the knowledge, skills and passion to make you the kind of dancer you want to become. Rest assured that the teachers chosen for you are professionals and the best in the field.

Can I only learn one single dance?

You have the opportunity to get to know all the dances which individually and as a whole have something to offer you. The legitimate result is to learn to dance. From an educational point of view we take advantage of the related teaching system and the diversity of the elements that make up what we call "dancing". From a fun point of view, dance starts with human instinct, it is a need for expression and not sustainability. Wouldn't you like to be in a position wherever you are (disco, club, meeting, reception, etc.) to get up and dance to the music you hear? If, however, your desire is a single dance, our schools clearly can fulfil it for you.

I will come alone, who am I going to dance with?

First of all you will dance with your teacher, as well as with the other partners of our school. Through your lessons you will meet other "students" and especially in our educational parties, you will have the opportunity to dance with many people all kinds of dances.

Can I only take private lessons/ only group lessons?

In LA FIESTA dance schools we operate with a specific teaching system in order to have a completely correct, complete and desired result. It is the combination of a private lesson, a group lesson and the educational parties. In extremely rare cases, special classes of group lessons or private hours are organized individually. You should also take group lessons. In private lessons you will learn the school steps of the dances you have chosen and the particular style of each dance. The private lessons are complemented by group lessons (Groups), where the technique, the right presentation, the balance, the particular style of each dance and all those elements that compose a good dance result are taught in detail.

 

What is Ballroom Dancing ;
Ballroom Dancing is a kind of dance where the couple dances in a harmonious and coordinated direction in a circular direction (anti clock-wise) on the dance floor. Ballroom Dancing is based on specific steps and figures that can be combined in unlimited ways. Ballroom Dancing includes dances such as Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, etc.

What are the Latin dances?
Latin dances are characterized by rhythmic movements that keep pace with the rhythm of Latin songs. The main feature of the steps are the expressive and short movements as well as the Cuban hip movement. Latin dances are very popular at parties because their music is possessed by fast rhythm and cheerful songs. Dances such as Salsa, Mambo, Cha - Cha and Merengue belong to the latin dance category.

What are the advantages of dancing?
In addition to the positive influence dancing has on the psychological mood of the dancer, it also helps significantly in the maintenance of good physical condition. Systematic dance exercise also helps maintain and/or reduce body weight, improves flexibility, reduces stress and increases good mood. Dancing is also a social hobby as it takes a lot of fun and good company!

What dances can I learn?
With little or no knowledge of dancing, you can learn whichever kind of dance you like or even all kinds. Dances such as Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep belong to the category of classical dances while Mambo, Samba, Cha - Cha and Rhumba are examples of ideal party dances.

Do I need a partner to learn to dance?
No. If you don't have a partner, our groups are structured so that you can practice dancing with your classmates and above all improve your technique. In the private lessons, if you do not have a partner, the teacher has the role of the partner.

What's the best way to learn to dance?

How many lessons do I have to take a week?
That's entirely up to you. Some students have a lesson once a week and others more times. We will create a program according to your objectives and tailored to your needs.

I don't know anything about dancing. Am I going to feel uncomfortable?
No. At LA FIESTA we seek to help students feel comfortable and gain confidence by always adapting learning to the student's level and abilities.

What do I need to wear to class?
Wear comfortable clothes and soft shoes. Shoes with leather soles are preferable while sports shoes (trainers) are not suitable.

Where can I dance besides our School?
You have opportunities to dance wherever you like! A few examples are at parties, clubs, weddings, corporate events, events of other dance schools, etc.

Can I learn to dance?

All good dancers were taught or trained. To learn to dance at LA FIESTA dance schools is as easy as walking.
